Beginning Precious Metal Clay Jewelry (Copper, Bronze, Fine Silver): ; Wednesdays, 4-5:30 p.m.

85.00

In this four-part series, you will learn how to mold, shape, cut, stamp, roll, and carve clay into designs for earrings, a pendant, a keychain, a tie clip, a bracelet or a pin. After the pieces come out of the kiln, we will also learn how to polish, burnish and apply patinas to give clay different antique looks if desired. Lastly, we will go over some basic wire-wrapping techniques so that you may turn your pieces into jewelry that you can wear or give as a gift!

Materials included are:: case for materials, sterling silver (or copper/bronze) findings (earring hooks, wire, jump rings), semi-precious stones/beads, Austrian crystals, polishing cloths, clay rolling pin, container to store clay, clay sculpting tool, rolling mat, gift bag, bracelet & necklace leather, and step-by-step instruction sheets.

Due to high cost of fine silver, you will have the option to purchase 3 quantities of clay, as well as work instead with a beautiful, but less expensive option: (bronze and/or copper= $12 for 30 g). The following prices are for fine silver:

6 g = $14 (makes one pair of earrings)

18 g= $32 (makes 1-2 pairs of earrings, one-two small pendants)

28 g= $43 (makes 3 pairs of small earrings, 2-3 pendants)
